Frequently Asked Questions

Which shapefile files do I upload?
Drop the .shp file together with its .dbf file (the attribute table) and its .prj file (the coordinate system), either as loose files or in one ZIP. No need to zip them yourself. Sidecar files such as .shx or .cpg can come along. Folders inside a ZIP are fine. If the upload holds several shapefiles, only the first .shp is converted.
What ends up in the Excel file?
One row per feature with every column of the .dbf attribute table, plus geometry_type, longitude and latitude columns in WGS 84. Lines and polygons use their centroid for the position, and also get a wkt column with the full shape, left empty if it is over the Excel limit of 32,767 characters per cell.
How do I convert Shapefile to Excel (XLSX)?
Upload your Shapefile file above, click Convert, and download the Excel (XLSX) result instantly. No account or software needed.
